Omega seems super dulled down compared to HD. For me Wipeout has always been about awesome over the top visuals and sound and having all of your senses berated at once. We’re just a few days away from screaming down some fierce race tracks in Sony’s WipEout Omega. It makes it so much less engaging to play. With Omega, the subwoofers are barely used, same with the rear channels, 90% of the sound is just piped straight out of the front left and right speakers. I have 7.1 speakers and bass shakers in my lounge and Wipeout HD makes excellent use of all of that, whenever you hit a speed boost pad the controller and the lounge shake at the same time, there are so many more sounds all around you, the music actually makes great use of the subwoofers.
